Privacy Policy
Page TL&DR ("the extension") is an AI summarization tool. This policy explains what data is processed when you use it.
What we process
When you click the extension's toolbar button (or the refresh button), it:
- Sends the URL and title of the active tab, plus any custom instructions you have saved, to our summarization service.
- Fetches the page's text content server-side in order to generate a summary. That content is used transiently for the single request and is not retained after the summary is returned.
We do not collect the text of summaries beyond what is needed to generate and return them to you. We do not sell or share personal data.
Anonymous install identifier
On first use, the extension generates a random identifier
(crypto.randomUUID()) stored locally in your browser. It contains no personal
information and is not linked to any account or identity. It is used solely to enforce a
fair-usage limit (a maximum number of summaries per day) so the service remains available to
everyone. This identifier is stored on your device and can be removed by clearing the
extension's data or uninstalling it.
What we do not collect
- Browsing history.
- Form data, passwords, or credentials.
- Location, contacts, or device identifiers beyond the anonymous identifier above.
- Any data from pages you do not explicitly summarize.
Data storage and retention
Page content is held only in memory for the duration of a summarization request and is not persisted. The anonymous usage identifier and any custom instructions are stored locally in your browser by Chrome, not on our servers.
Your choices
You can clear the extension's stored data at any time, or uninstall it, which removes the locally stored identifier. Summary requests are only made when you click the button; the extension does not run in the background or track your browsing.
